New Team Leader at Kedmor!

We're thrilled to announce the promotion of Roee Meidan to Team Leader!

Roee's journey with us began as a young student, completing his final university project under the guidance of Kedmor Engineers.

Since then, his dedication and expertise, particularly in the design of post-tensioned bridges, and research into BIM methodologies, have been instrumental to our projects' success.

We're excited to see Roee leverage his experience and leadership skills, to take our team to even greater heights.

Netanya's New Connection: The Havatzelet Bridge by Kedmor Engineers is Under Construction

Construction is underway on the highly anticipated Havatzelet Bridge in Netanya! This 5-span vehicular bridge, designed by Kedmor Engineers, will connect a new northern neighbourhood to Route 2, easing traffic flow and promoting city growth.

Underground Water Reservoir, Lod

Kedmor are proud to announce their involvement in the design of the new entrance to Lod from Route 40.

Our team is providing structural engineering design services for a comprehensive infrastructure project that will significantly improve accessibility and sustainability for the city. This includes:

• Two railway bridges.

• Two pedestrian bridges.

• An underpass.

• An underground water reservoir with a capacity of 1,000 cubic meters.

• A water pumping station.

The innovative underground reservoir will capture rainwater runoff from the underpass system, promoting water conservation and reducing strain on existing water resources. The captured water will then be directed to a new pumping station.

The reservoir utilises reinforced concrete construction and is founded on piles for optimal stability. To facilitate the cut & cover construction method chosen by the contractor, a contiguous piled retaining wall surrounds the reservoir.

The project utilised Sofistik advanced finite element analysis & 3D reinforced concrete detailing in AutodeskRevit, for an optimised, holistic design.

This project exemplifies Kedmor Engineers' commitment to sustainable and resilient infrastructure development.

Kedmor's trip to Pavia, Italy

Kedmor’s Raz Mor and Itamar Netzer, alongside Yaron Offir and Roei Biton from Yaron Offir Engineers, recently embarked on a collaborative trip to Pavia, Italy, as part of our ongoing project with the Israel Standards Institute.

Here they met external consultants Studio Calvi, led by Prof. Gian Michele Calvi and his earthquake engineering specialists. This key meeting fostered in-depth discussions and valuable insights, that will significantly propel our collaborative project forward.

The team also had the privilege of touring the Eucentre Lab, a renowned facility dedicated to applied research in seismic engineering. This immersive experience provided a valuable perspective on the latest advancements in the field.

We extend our gratitude to Prof. Calvi and his team for their collaborative spirit and insightful contributions.

The Aleto Bridges, Nigeria

Our team is proud to be involved in the design of the Aleto Bridges Project in Nigeria.

This project involves the construction of two modern, post-tensioned concrete bridges spanning the Aleto River. Each bridge will feature a sleek, single hollow box-girder design for enhanced aesthetics and functionality.

To ensure efficient construction, the bridges will be built using cast-in-situ segmental concrete. This method, combined with the balanced cantilever method and a form traveler, allows for rapid segment assembly and minimizes construction time.

These new bridges will replace two existing structures, providing a significant upgrade to the transportation network. Each bridge will boast a total length of 160 meters with three spans.

A global model of the bridge was created using SOFiSTiK finite element analysis software to optimize the design for the stages of construction.

14th Construction & Infrastructure Conc

The Kedmor team enjoyed attending the 14th annual construction and infrastructure conference in Tel-Aviv last week.

It was a great opportunity to touch base with our colleagues across the industry, stay up to date with the latest technologies, and most importantly of all, learn from others.

We’re now buzzing to integrate these learnings into our projects, pushing the boundaries of construction excellence.

The Abiola-Onijemo Bridge, Lagos

The Abiola-Onijemo Bridge construction in Lagos, Nigeria is about to enter its final stage of construction. This 9-span, 135m reinforced concrete bridge, will connect the Abiola and Onijemo streets.

To expedite the site works, the Contractor elected to prefabricate the main longitudinal girders and the transverse planks, for which they created an on-site fabrication yard.

Kedmor would like to thank the Contractor for their professional work and excellent collaboration.

New Partners at Kedmor!

We are delighted to announce that Mor Machlev and Gal Edri have joined Amir Kedar, Raz Mor & Micha Petri as Partners, significantly strengthening our leadership team.

Both Mor and Gal joined the practice as young engineers, during their final years of university, and have continuously developed their technical and managerial skills.

Gal began his career at Kedmor, working with Micha Petri in the Yavne branch for two years, until moving to the main office in Givatayim. Since 2018, Gal has led a team, specializing in the design of bridges, railroad electrification projects, and complex prestressed concrete elements.

Mor Joined Kedmor in 2015, became a Team Leader in 2019 and moved to Myanmar in 2020, to establish our practice there. Mor specializes in the design of segmental bridges and complex interchanges, and has also been deeply involved in the implementation of BIM within the practice.

We are confident that Gal and Mor will play integral roles in shaping the future success of Kedmor Engineers.

Operation Iron Swords

On 7th October 2023, Israel was attacked by Hamas, committing the worst atrocity against the Jewish people since the Holocaust.

As our country goes to war, a significant part of the Kedmor team have been called up to the army reserves. Needless to say, we are incredibly worried, but so proud of them, and are doing our best to support their families during this time.

We are also supporting the wider community, delivering food and supplies to those evacuated from around Gaza, and to the army.

In the meantime, our Israel office continues to function.

We pray for the success of the IDF, and for peace in Israel.

Construction begins on Havatzelet Bridge, Netanya

Construction is about to commence on the Havatzelet bridge in Netanya.

This 5-span vehicular bridge, crosses Israel’s Avichail National Park, and is designed to connect a new neighborhood in the north of Netanya to Route 2. The bridge is 150m long and is composed of two separate cast-in-place concrete decks with shared abutments.

Kedmor have acted as the Structural Engineer of Record and the Architects on this project. The entire project was modelled in Revit, and analyzed using Sofistik advanced finite element software. Complex Dynamo scripts were created to link between the Revit and Sofistik models, to aid the detailing and coordination of the prestressing tendons.

Parking Lot 4/9 on Ramot Interchange

The construction of the Public Transportation Parking Lot 4/9 on Ramot Interchange in Jerusalem was recently completed.

We provided value engineering services for the Contractor, optimizing the design of around 250 precast, pre-stressed concrete girders.

The design incorporated the full BIM process, and we provided 3D digital deliverables.

A huge thanks to our colleagues at Yaron-Shimoni-Shacham, the Designer of Record, for their cooperation.

Student Intake 2023-2024

Kedmor welcomes this year’s placement students: Yoav Milgrom, Talia Dychtwald, Einav Dori, and Chen Somech, from the Ben-Gurion University of the Negev.

Each will be involved with our projects, gaining valuable practical design office experience.

They will also receive guidance for their final university projects, from our Team Leaders.

The opening of Arlosoroff Light-Rail Station

Thrilled about the opening of The Tel-Aviv Light-Rail Red-Line, which includes Arlosoroff Underground Station, designed by Kedmor!

This underground station structure comprises of water-tight ‘outer-box’ diaphragm walls, which helped facilitate the temporary works requirements, during ground excavation and the construction of the main station inner-box.

The XL Canopy, one of the key pieces of the Red-Line stations, located above the Arlosoroff station had been meticulously detailed as well. The connection nodes weigh up to ca. 950 kg each and are 200 mm of solid steel, welded to the profiles. Their design included volumetric finite-element analysis, with the help of Lusas FE software.

Kedmor are the structural Engineer of Record for this complex underground structure, provided engineering support throughout construction.
